Femme Frequencies
When my friend Anita invited me to join this project a year ago, I had no idea how fast it would grow—or how deeply I’d come to believe in its mission. What started as an idea soon became something bigger! It wasn’t until five months ago that we made the leap—officially developing the brand and hosting events.
That’s how Femme Frequencies was born—an initiative dedicated to amplifying the presence of female techno DJs and producers in East Africa. As the region’s first female-only techno DJ collective, it needed to stand out—not just in sound, but in design, color, and style.
From scratch, I crafted the brand identity, using AI to generate powerful female symbols, refining the best one in Illustrator, and transforming it into 3D with a Figma plugin. The font had to be just right—edgy and futuristic—so I searched until we found the perfect match.
Beyond visuals, Anita and I built the communication strategy, launched the first event on Quicket, and created the Instagram profile and social media presence to start introducing Femme Frequencies to the world.

The Femme Frequencies brand is edgy, and futuristic, with geometrical and grid-like shapes.
